Soccer team to hold open tryouts for 2014 season

HOUSTON – The San Jacinto College men’s soccer team will hold open tryouts for the 2014 season on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the South Campus soccer field. Tryouts are open to current San Jacinto College students and new college transfers. Participants are required to bring their own shin guards and water. Open tryouts for high school seniors and incoming college freshman will be scheduled for April 2014. San Jacinto College finished the 2013 season ranked third in the nation at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national tournament, setting a new school record with an overall record of 20-2-0. Six team members also received NJCAA and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) honors. The South Campus is located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston.
