Estrada named Region XIV pitcher of the week

HOUSTON – San Jacinto College (SJC) sophomore Alexis Estrada has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIV softball pitcher of the week.

The 5-4 right-hander from Richmond, Texas (Travis HS) went 1-0 with a win over Grayson College, and posted a save against McLennan Community College. In nine innings she allowed just three hits and no runs with an on-base percentage of 0.097. She struck out seven. Estrada recently signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her education and softball career at Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Fla.

San Jac (9-2) will play in the Temple College Tournament this weekend in Temple, Texas. All SJC softball home games are played at the South campus, located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston, and can be heard live online at www.LegacySportsNetwork.com
