Free cooking demos on the table at Community Education Center

The Community Education Center at San Jacinto College will serve up eight free adult nutrition classes focusing on healthy food choices and cooking demos over the next two months.
Open to community members of all ages, the classes will be held each Monday, Aug. 29 to Oct. 24, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the San Jacinto College Central Campus, building 1, room 108. The Center will be closed on Labor Day.
The following is a list of class topics and dates:
Aug. 29, Session One: Healthy Food/Health Families
Sept. 12, Session Two: Foods that Pack a PUNCH!
Sept. 19, Session Three: Making the Most of MyPlate
Sept. 26, Session Four: The Power of Planning
Oct. 3, Session Five: Setting Your Limits
Oct. 10, Session Six: Plate it Safe!
Oct. 17, Session Seven: The Choice is Yours!
Oct. 24, Session Eight: Mealtime Miracles
Although the sessions are free, registration is required by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 281-478-2786. The Community Education Center is sponsored by the San Jacinto College Continuing and Professional Development (CPD) division. The Center hosts a variety of events each month that focus on health and wellness, career readiness, college resources and job training opportunities.
