From left, San Jacinto College students Liza Gonzalez, Miriam Benavides, Sharon Williams, Brianna Garza, Abigail Duran, and Alondra Gonzalez recently navigated in kayaks to enjoy a boats-eye view of Greens Bayou. They are the first group of San Jacinto College students to use the boat launch installed at the Thomas Bell Foster Park. The park is located close to the Normandy Street bridge over Greens Bayou, which is near the San Jacinto College North Campus. San Jacinto College faculty, staff, and students assisted in construction of the small park, which is part of an ongoing project coordinated by the Greens Bayou Coalition to make improvements along Greens Bayou. The park was recently acquired by the Houston Parks Board. Photo credit: Rob Vanya, San Jacinto College marketing, public relations, and government affairs department.
