World Premiere of "Psalms" by composer, Dr. Paul Busselberg feat. SJCC Steel Band and SJCC Chorale
LOCATION: Slocomb Auditorium
On Friday, May 8 at 7 p.m., the combined choruses and the steel drum band will present a concert in the Slocomb Fine Arts Center Auditorium. They will also be joined by CONSONO, a Houston-area professional choral ensemble. Together they will premiere “Psalms for Choir and Steel Drums,” a five-movement selection by Dr. Paul Busselberg, choir director at the San Jacinto College Central Campus. The ensembles will also perform “Four Seasons” by renowned steel band composer Phil Hawkins. A guest artist at the concert will be Hawkin’s wife, Michelle Hawkins, an award-winning choral director and music educator. “Four Seasons” is a four movement work written for steel drum orchestra and choir that tells the story of the human life cycle.
