Public invited to participate in CGA Rec Sports Scramble to the Desert

PASADENA, Texas – Members of the public are invited to participate in the Collegiate Golf Alliance (CGA) Rec Sports Scramble to the Desert tournament on Thursday, April 23, at the San Jacinto College Central Campus.

The tournament will begin at 10 a.m., as a two-person scramble, best ball format. It will be held on the San Jacinto College nine-hole golf course using a different tee box for holes 1-9 and 10-18. The top three finishing teams among students, community members, and faculty will win a bid to participate in the national CGA golf tournament.

Winners will also receive such prizes as golf equipment items. Entry fees are $50 for San Jacinto College student teams and $70 for community teams. The entry fee covers 18 holes for golf, food, and a goodie bag with items at an estimated value of the entry cost.

San Jacinto College has hosted the CGA Rec Sports Scramble to the Desert tournament since 2010 with an average of 30 participants each year. The San Jacinto College Central Campus is located at 8060 Spencer Highway in Pasadena.
