Plentiful camp offerings at San Jacinto College made for an educational summer
09.05.2014 | By Jeannie Peng-Armao
San Jacinto College offered more than 40 camp sessions this summer for students from elementary to high school. The variety of camps ranged from science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to the arts to music with sessions that included the All-State Choir Camp, EnergyVenture, KidSpot theatre camp, Robotics Camp, The Kids Write Olympics, Maritime Youth Camp, Basketball Camp, and more.
Children experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer, according to the National Summer Learning Association. Summer camps at San Jacinto College are meant to educate K-12 students on the various careers and activities offered through a higher education institution.
A new batch of San Jacinto College summer camps in the areas of the arts, academics, sports, STEM, and careers will become available for registration during Spring 2015. Check for updates at www.sanjac.edu/summer-camps.
