K-12 students invited to the Maritime and Logistics Youth Expo

Event scheduled for April 28 at new San Jacinto College Maritime Campus

PASADENA, Texas – The Houston maritime industry wants to show all K-12 students that they, too, can have rewarding careers on the water during the Maritime and Logistics Youth Expo 2017 on Friday, April 28.

This event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be hosted at the San Jacinto College Maritime Technology and Training Center on the Maritime Campus in La Porte, Texas. Companies will showcase interactive displays featuring equipment used in the industry, such as trucks, forklifts, cranes, response trailers, small boats and diving equipment.

This year’s sponsors include the Houston Pilots, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, San Jacinto College, Harris County Precinct 2 and Port Houston. Admission is free for attendees and exhibitors. Anyone interested in the maritime industry is invited, including school groups. Each group of 10-15 students must have a chaperone and register by calling 713-670-2806. The Maritime Technology and Training Center is located at 3700 Old State Hwy 146 in La Porte.
